The flavor profile of early varieties is diverse and unique. Some of their key notes include honey, caramel, melon, and floral tones. These figs are excellent for all growing zones. These are some of the sweetest figs. They ripen at the peak of summer when heat and dryness combine to produce the sweetest of figs. Some of our recommended varieties include Campaniere, LSU Hollier, Byadi, Peter’s Honey, De Tres Esplets, La Magdeleine, and Dolce Cuore.
Capoll Curt Negra is another excellent variety from Montserrat Pons i Boscana. I am a fan of any fig that Mr. Pons describes as having a "flaming red" pulp that is "sweet and delicious". The figs from this variety exhibit cracking when ripe. They are split resistance even when having a somewhat wide ostiole. I really enjoy this fig; I can only describe them as having a deep berry flavor that is very complex. At times some of these figs taste like "black raspberry" jam. The texture is jammy and at times very dense. These are really exquisite figs. The tree is very vigorous, the foliage is very ornamental with large sturdy leaves. Anyone looking into MPs figs need to have this variety, it is a true example of top figs.

Exquisito figs have been very impressive in flavor and texture. The texture is creamy with a distinct thick syrup similar to that of the Italian-258. The flavor is figgy with a unique bright berry tone (very different from any of our other varieties). The figs set early and ripen middle to late in the season, it is a good producer. The tree likes sunny areas and seems to handle abrupt weather changes well. This is a variety to consider for its unique flavor and good quality figs.

Cavalieri has a special flavor profile, it is often associated with tones of cherry and berry. In my experience, the cherry flavor is not as pronounced as it is often taunted. This fig is very juicy and sweet. The flavor is overall delicious and refreshing. The figs ripe mid to late in the season. You need to keep watch for this fig because critters love it. I have a constant fight with squirrels and chipmunks, that's how good this fig is. The figs are large in size and very succulent. The tree is an average producer and grower; the foliage is very ornamental.
