Col de Dame Noir is an excellent tasting variety. It is on the late side, and it is a slow grower like all Coll de Dame types. The tree benefits from consistent fertilization. I particularly enjoy this variety a lot. It ripens late; however, its flavor is not affected by the colder days in Autumn. I find this fig to be the best way to finish the season. Its deep berry flavor and dense texture are excellent.
