De Capocorp D'en Munar Plant
De Capocorp D’en Munar is a Spanish variety preserved and documented by Monserrat Pons. The mother tree is located in Capocorp de Miquel Munar. This variety has one of the most distinctive flavors in our collection. The pulp is moderately sweet with tones of peach and apricot. The tree is very productive. Figs set in high density at the tips of the branches. When ripe figs develop longitudinal cracks. The pulp is syrupy. The ripening period is late September to October.
The tree prefers to be watered moderately as figs can split. Mr. Pons mentions that the variety is resistant to rain and moderate showers. However, in our experience we have noticed splitting of the figs in light autumn rain. It is possible that as our mother tree continues to mature it could become more resistant to rains.
