This variety has been documented by Harvey and it has a very interesting background story. The fig originates from Italy and the name means "Sweetheart". The figs are large and flavorful. They have a very juicy and sweet inside. The flavor has hints of melon and its sweetness is a great complement to the flavor. It produces a breba crop that is exceptional as good as the main crop. The size of the figs is large, and they have a short hang time. The tree produces figs for an extended time, from late July to mid-September. I got some really delicious figs at peak conditions in July and early August, so I do recommend this variety for regions with short summers. This was in my top 5 figs in 2024.
