La Magdeleine Plant
La Magdeleine is a small to medium honey type fig. The variety has been documented and propagated by Figues du Monde. We acquired this variety as it is a very early producer. This variety is excellent for cold climates with short seasons. The tree is a strong grower. The leaves have a very particular shape and texture. A unique fig tree for sure. The pulp is succulent when ripe. The skin of the fig cracks and some sugar spots develop foreshadowing its sweet content. The interior is amber in color with a sweet honey taste. At times some light caramel or brown sugar tones can be noticed when figs ripen in hot and dry conditions. The complexity of honey figs can only be really appreciated when allowing for proper hang time, thus it is important to be patient and wait for the right time to collect them. The time to pick these figs is when they droop on the branch, have soft necks, have sugar spots, and begin to crack and shrink. We advise for limited watering as the figs can split in high humidity.
Please read Terms of Service before purchasing.
Regulations: We cannot support international shipping at the moment. Similarly, shipping is not available to CA, HI, PR and AK.
