Perola Plant
Perola is a Portuguese fig. In my experience, all Portuguese varieties take a few years to stablish and produce quality figs. The first few years the trees seem to focus on growth and getting a good root system. Perola is a very strong grower with beautiful foliage. The fig has a red and at times deep amber interior. The flavor profile is figgy with a brown sugar or molasses flavor. The size is medium to large, and they ripen mid to late in the season.
