Popone Plant
Popone is a variegated variety. The interior is deep red with figgy and berry tones. The fig has a unique texture, when ripe it feels like eating fruit leather. The skin is a bit rough, but it actually adds to the experience. It is a very distinctive variety in my opinion. The wood is deeply variegated and the leaves at times get some variegation too. Because of the variegation, I would advise putting the tree in an area that gets a few hours of full sun to prevent the leaves from burning. Very beautiful fig with a very unique texture and overall flavor.
