Rockaway Green Plant
Rockaway Green is an excellent Adriatic type fig. The skin is bright green, and its interior is deep red. The flavor is a mixture of berries with sublet figgy tones. The level of sweetness is medium, and the pulp is rich in texture. Figs ripen late in the season. The rain and cold temperatures do not affect the fig quality as much as other varieties. Rockaway green is a great option for extending the harvest well into fall. The tree is cold hardy to a good extend, however, if planted inground some winter protection is advised to prevent damage from extended freezing conditions and ice.
