Valoze originates from Italy and was brought to the US many decades ago by the owner of Valoze's nursery in Upstate NY. The original tree is located inside a large greenhouse. Our mother tree originates from this nursery. This is not a strict Mount Etna type even if it looks like one. The flavor is very intense and very sweet. The figs start to ripen early to mid-season. The tree is very productive, and figs keep ripening all the way to the end of fall with sustained quality. This is among our favorite varieties; one we look forward to eating each year.
